Hey Donna! I'm also looking to the cards for some insight in this inward time of year, though lately I've been getting a lot of calamity cards, so...not too excited about those. On the better foot, I'm preparing to get out the Crock-Pot--a sure sign of fall!
Exactly! Last night I was looking at the Wheel of Fortune as, Well, I could be on the upswing--it's not always about heading into the downward spiral (like The Tower that I got last week, egad). It was following the impulsive Knight of Wands, so of course I was like, Okaaaay, what am I blundering into, LOL...
Beautiful, Donna. I love your intentions in this reading. My question: what if "old age" and "stage of endings" is just a concept? What if you can interpret where you are in this moment any way you want?
I remember years ago reading Gail Sheehy's book, Passages, as a helpful way to recognize these predictable turning points and crises and meet these moments. But what if it isn't? Or if society didn't hold these expectations?
Yes! In my journal o wrote that Sarah did not live 100 years as a crone. She became a maiden again when she laughed and she became a mother at 99. Creativity and joy can be in every stage of life, at every age.
Thank you for the clarity of your posting. I think, like you I have been travelling along that consciousness …. for maybe as long as 4-5 years now but am gently settling into my new, less stretchy skin. And recognising that we move through the phases of our life not via any external jurisdiction … since they tend to be based on judgement and fear; but through our own gentle growth and grounding. Until we see clearly that the process is as rich and complex as the whole complicated infrastructure of living and we (I) begin to land again in assurance, gratitude and joy. Trust yourself and your own perfect process. 🫶🏻

Well the calamity cards can just be warnings to watch out or be careful. I mean death can even mean regeneration - and ending AND a beginning!

I also like to think of the wheel of fortune as a ship’s wheel. The winds of chance come out you, but you have to steer your ship through them.
Such a great way to look at it!

Food for thought, no?

Your cards are lovely.

Thanks. It’s the Tarot of Mystical Moments, which I received as a gift.
